What to see in the Marche

Fermo

The strength of Fermano territory is the landscape that you can see from the Residence. The Girafalco hill, on which Fermo is perched, has a park with old trees and it is one of the most beautiful scenic landscape of the Marche coast.

The city’s surroundings are a wonderful mix of sea (the Adriatic is only eight kilometers from the city center) and rolling hills with medieval towns and typical villages unto the Sibillini.

The coast offers a crystal clear water and beaches full of services, from Casabianca, in Lido di Fermo, Marina Palmense, Porto San Giorgio, popular and lively tourist town attainable through the beautiful promenade. There is the possibility to practice water sports, from sailing to windsurfing, and many others.

The Coast of Fermo

A little further north, on the coast, you will find a small trade town, Civitanova Marche, in the hinterland, Macerata, Medieval and Renaissance jewel, still fascinating.

To the south, staying on the coast, you’ll find a historic town, fishing port and tourist center of national importance such as San Benedetto del Tronto, moving inward, a city of great tradition and culture, Ascoli Piceno.

The hinterland of Fermo is full of wonderful houses and gastronomic delights, a paradise for gourmets but also for hikers and lovers of hiking, biking and horseback riding.

The Macerata Territory

Natural wonders enhance as we move towards the Apennines, in the green, wild, charming Parco dei Monti Sibillini.

Here nature is dominant, surrounded by small medieval villages such as Montefortino, Montemonaco and Amandola.

Ascoli Piceno and the "Riviera delle Palme"

To the south, staying on the coast, you will meet a historical city and a tourist resort and fishing port of national importance such as San Benedetto del Tronto, moving inward, a city of tradition and culture as Ascoli Piceno rich in a beautiful medieval architecture.

The hinterland of Fermo is full of wonderful farms and culinary delights, a paradise for gourmets, but also for hikers and trekkers, mountain biking and horseback riding.

The inland of the Marche: the Sibillini

Loreto

Moving further north we reach the town of Loreto, located on the top of a gentle hill and is home of the "Basilica della Santa Casa", one of the oldest and most important Marian pilgrimage sites of the Catholic world.

Frasassi Caves

The Marches are famous for the wonderful Frasassi caves, underground caves that are located in the Municipality of Genca, in the province of Ancona.

The caves are within the Regional Natural Park of Gola della Rossa and Frasassi.

They are considered one of the most beautiful sights in the whole Italian territory; known for the stalactites and stalagmites, in a path of about 30 Km.
